DEERFIELD TWP., Ohio —
A Warren County Coroner's investigator detained an armed robbery suspect until police were able to take him into custody.
Deputies said William D. Jackson, of Dayton, is wanted for using a hammer to threaten a woman at an ATM if she didn't withdraw cash and give it to him.
The woman was not harmed and the man fled in a gray pickup truck.
Deputies located the truck minutes later and it was unoccupied but running. The truck had been stolen out of Dayton, deputies said.
A K-9 track was under way when Warren County Coroner's Investigator Ron Robertson observed a suspicious man in the area of Kingsley Drive. He inquired to see if deputies were searching for someone and made contact with the suspect on a bike trail.
Robertson detained Jackson, 47, until deputies arrived and took him into custody.
Jackson faces charges of aggravated robbery and receiving stolen property.
