A heartfelt thank you to Oxford election officials

Nov, 6, 2012 was not just another day in our community, but a day where our collective civic identity was in full display. Like all colleges and universities in the United States, according to the revised Higher Education Act, Miami University was required to provide voter registration and education information to all enrolled students.

Miami’s effort to meet this mandate was enhanced by the collaborative relationship it has with the city of Oxford. Election day, facilitated by numerous election officials, resulted in thousands of Miami students choosing to vote locally along side thousands of Oxford residents.

Our community is stronger due to the partnership between the university and Oxford community members. Thanks to all of those election officials who made this process as seamless as possible. Susan Mosley-Howard, Associate Vice President and Dean of Students, and David Sauter, University Registrar
