Two elderly Miamisburg area residents were killed Sunday afternoon in a single vehilce crash on Ohio 73 in Milford Twp., according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Charles R. Lucas, 72, of the 6700 block of Germantown Pike, driving a pickup truck east on Ohio 73 about a half mile east of Ohio 177 at about 4 p.m. when he lost control, causing the truck to travel off the left side of the road where it struck a culvert and flipped.

Lucas was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. His passenger, Loretta Lucas, 72, of the same address, was transported to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown where she was later pronounced dead. The cause of the crash still remains under investigation.
