Clouds will start the morning Sunday, but the clouds will likely move out and lead to more sunshine throughout the day, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs.

Temperatures Sunday will be slightly below normal with highs in the mid to upper 30s.

The work week will start of dry with clouds building Monday evening. Highs for Monday will be a bit milder settling in the lower 40s through the afternoon.

Rain returns to the region Monday overnight into Tuesday morning, with the rain eventually turning to snow later on Tuesday, Vrydaghs said.

“The timing of the cold air will affect how soon the changeover takes place,” Vrydaghs said. “Right now it may cause a slick commute home Tuesday evening.”

A chance for snow showers will remain in the forecast through Thursday.
