The Talawanda girls cross country will compete in the regional meet at 3 p.m. Saturday at Troy.

The team finished second in the Dayton district meet Oct. 20 at the Miami Valley Technical Center.

The Braves placed five runners in the top 25, led by Junior Jessica Tegge, who placed 8th in a time of 19:58.

Sarah Starrett, a junior, and her sister, Jessica, a freshman were next into the finish chute for Talawanda in 13th and 16th places, respectively. Both runners would have qualified to regionals as individuals if the team had not made it through.
