OXFORD —

The Oxford Community Arts Center will hold an exhibition, “Talking Animals,” Nov. 9-Dec. 6 and is seeking artwork from local and regional artists.

Artists are asked to submit work that responds to the human interaction and interpretation with animals. “Talking Animals” is an exploration of the “voice” of animals. Any medium, genre and style may be accepted.

To submit work for acceptance, artists should send digital images with their name, mailing address, phone number, email address, a brief artist bio and descriptions of the work to info@oxarts.org and chrissycollopy@yahoo.com . In the subject line, they should include their name and title of the show (Talking Animals). No submission fee is required.

Digital submissions (on a disc or zip drive) also may be mailed or dropped off at the OCAC office Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., or Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. All submissions must be submitted no later than Oct. 26 and will be reviewed by the OCAC Gallery Committee.

If accepted, all works must be ready to hang (framed, eye-hooks and wire), or display by Nov. 1. An exhibition agreement will be required. Artwork should be appropriate for all audiences. The exhibition committee reserves the right to choose whether artwork is appropriate for our audience.

The OCAC is a not-for-profit arts center that serves the Oxford community with art exhibitions, theater productions, concerts, ballroom dance lessons, children’s after school and summer education programs, adult education programs and workshops , artist studios, and a summer gardening program and many other events. It is housed in the historic building which used to be the Oxford College for Women and has undergone extensive renovation.
