Many children’s items recalled

It has been a busy last few months for recalls involving children’s products, clothes and toys, as evidenced by the near-daily updates from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

In case some of these recalls were missed by parents or caregivers; here is a roundup of the more notable recalls, and the hazards they present, from May, June, July and the first few days of August.

These recalls, from the CPSC, are listed in descending order from newest to oldest.

Children’s products

• Circo Booster Seats, due to fall hazard.

• Graco Jump ’n Jive Doorway Jumpers, due to choking hazard.

• Safety 1st Stair Gates, due to fall hazard

• Little Tikes Clubhouse Swing Sets, due to fall hazard.

• BabyBjörn Bouncer Chairs, due to laceration hazard.

• Kolcraft Play Yards, due to fall hazard.

• Gromex Pacifiers, due to choking hazard.

• Aqua-Leisure Inflatable Baby Floats, due to drowning hazard

• Simplicity Drop-side Cribs, due to risk of suffocation.

• LaJobi Drop-side Cribs, due to risk of entrapment and suffocation hazard.

• Bugaboo Strollers, due to risk of brake failure.

• Step2 Outdoor Play Sets, due to fall hazard.

• Skywalker Holdings Trampolines, fall hazard.

• Eddie Bauer Play Yards with Rocking Bassinets, due to suffocation hazard.

Children’s clothes

• Many varieties of hooded sweatshirts with drawstrings were recalled by multiple manufacturers due to strangulation hazard.

• Buster Brown Clog Children’s Shoes, due to choking hazard.

• Children’s Loungewear by Warm Biscuit Bedding, due to violation of flammability standards.

• Ambler Mountain Works’ Knitted Hats, due to choking hazard.

Toys

• LeapFrog’s My Pal Scout Electronic Plush Toy Dogs, due to choking hazard.

• LEGO Power Functions IR Remote Controls, due to burn hazard.

• Evenflo Switch-A-Roo Telephone Toys, due to choking hazard.

• Build-A-Bear Workshop Folding Toy Beach Chairs for Stuffed Animals, due to laceration hazard.
