Staff Report

A 34-year-old Oxford woman was apprehended after allegedly ramming her former husband’s Jeep through a fence and more than 30 feet into his yard.

Sheila A. Lamb, 716 S. College Ave. #12, reportedly crashed her car into her former husband’s vehicle repeatedly on June 27. Police said Lamb was parked near the victim’s residence and rammed his vehicle as he returned home at around 3:45 a.m.

The victim told police she was heavily intoxicated when she began slamming into his vehicle, alleging she knocked his Jeep more than 30 feet into his yard. Officers attempted to speak with Lamb at her apartment, but said she refused to answer repeated knocks on her front door. Police did locate her vehicle, which they said was demolished with the rear panel dragging on the ground.

Lamb reportedly called in to the Oxford Police Department at 5 a.m. and offered to turn herself in. Officers returned to her residence and placed her under arrest, noting she had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath.

Police report she freely admitted to ramming her ex-husband’s car earlier in the evening, but said she did not hit a nearby fence on purpose. Lamb reportedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a breathalyzer test. She was issued citations for domestic violence, criminal damaging and OVI and was taken to the Butler County Jail.
