HAMILTON — A monthlong undercover investigation has ended with the arrest of two people who sheriff’s deputies say were dealing drugs from a room at a Hamilton motel.
Agents from the Butler County Sheriff’s Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force executed two search warrants at the Cove Motel, 2800 Dixie Highway, on Monday afternoon, Jan. 4. Officials said they seized 31 grams of crack cocaine and a small amount of powder cocaine from one of the rooms searched.
Two occupants of the room — Curtis Lee Jarrett, 28, of the 1100 block of Harmon Avenue, and Jocelyn Lewis, 25, of the same address — were arrested. Jarrett and Lewis are both charged with trafficking in drugs, two counts of possession of drugs and endangering children, officials said. They were arraigned Tuesday in Hamilton Municipal Court.
Also in the room with the pair when they were arrested was Lewis’ baby, Sgt. Todd Langmeyer said.
Lewis’ four other children were in a room she rented next door, Langmeyer said.
The investigation included multiple undercover crack cocaine purchases from the room and the observation of other drug transactions, according to Langmeyer.
