Police arrested a 48-year-old Oxford man who reportedly tried to withdraw more than $2,000 from his former business’ bank account.

Officers spoke with the owner of Skyline Chili, who said the former co-owner was removed from his job in early October. The owner said the man went on to write four separate checks from a company account he was no longer authorized to use, totaling more than $2,000.

When police were dispatched to the man’s Jeffrey Drive home to issue the felony theft warrant, they located a plastic vial containing a controlled substance. Officers report the small pill was initially identified as clozapine.

Kenneth R. Lance, 34 Jeffrey Drive, was charged with theft and drug abuse.
