OXFORD TWP. — An Oxford Twp. couple is recovering from minor injuries the suffered Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 10, when a their car rolled over into a ditch on Ohio 732.
Melvin and Debra Stumbo were traveling in the 5900 block at about 4 p.m. when their PT Cruiser slid off the road after encountering a large amount of drifting snow in the roadway also known as Morning Sun Road, according to Oxford Twp. Police Chief Michael Goins.
The Stumbos, of Booth Road in Oxford Twp, were transported to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, were they were treated and released, according to police
Goins said blowing and drifting snow on roads in the township continues to be a problem and a challenge for road crews and drivers.
Since Friday afternoon when the first wave of snow hit, the department has responded to 30 weather-related crashes, he said.
“We get a lot of wind out here. You can be driving down the road and it's clear and before you know it there’s two feet of snow drifted on the road,” Goins said.
