FRANKLIN — An 87-year-old woman remained in critical condition late Monday night after being struck by a motorcycle this past weekend.
Leah Wideman was struck Saturday afternoon, Nov. 14, and taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where she remained Monday night, according to a hospital official.
Wideman was walking to her mailbox about 1:10 p.m. Saturday when she was struck in the roadway by a motorcycle driven by John Goonan, 37, of Springboro, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Goonan was driving his 1994 Harley-Davidson while Wideman was walking to her mailbox across Robinson-Vail Road near Ohio 122.
She was flown to MVH by medical helicopter.
Goonan attempted to stop, but his motorcycle fell on its side, striking Wideman, officials said.
Goonan received only minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital.
The crash remains under investigation, but alcohol or drugs are not factors, officials said.
