Staff report

OXFORD – Members of a Miami University fraternity must complete an alcohol education course after being found responsible for violating the code of student conduct for prohibited use of alcohol, according to Miami officials, according to Elizabeth Runyon, Miami spokeswoman.

Eighty percent of the members of the Miami chapter of Acacia Fraternity and 100 percent of the most recent new members must complete the course.

An incident was reported in January involving a minor consuming alcohol to the point of intoxication while at the Acacia house.

Acacia Fraternity also must provide a copy of their current risk management policy, as well as a report detailing changes they will implement to the policy in light of this incident.

An administrative hearing was conducted in the Miami Office of Ethics And Conflict Resolution on Feb. 24.
