This year's FFA fruit sale is open for business.

Ben Hackney, chairman of Talawanda FFA Fruit Sale Board of Directors announced this week that the sale is proceeding on schedule.

Extras

Even though many area people have been contracted, the FFA fears that some of their previous customers may have been missed. If so, they may call the high school at (513) 273-3294 or contact an FFA member to place an order.

Many people don't realize that the FFA orders extra fruit to cover re-orders and new customers after the fruit arrives.

"We always have extra fruit for sale in early December," Hackney said, "and we encourage customers who have not ordered fruit to come to the ag shop at THS to pick up an order."

The ag shop will be open several days after school hours.

Kayla Howard, secretary of the board of directors, also added her words of thanks for all of the present customers and encourages others who have not placed an order to do so as soon as possible. Fruit for sale includes navel oranges, pink grapefruit, tangelos, mixed citrus, red delicious apples, Granny Smith apples and Fuji apples.

In addition to the above choices they are also offering a fruit basket again. It is an attractive fancy fruit basket containing a peck (10 pounds) of fruit.

Red delicious, Fuji and Granny Smith apples, navel oranges, grapefruit, nuts, candies and jellies will be included in the basket, which will be topped by a cellophane shrink wrap. It's great for a gift.

The fruit will arrive in Oxford on Dec. 3. Fruit will be available for pick up at the Talawanda Ag Shop Dec. 4-14.
