Tomahawks Team 7 defeats Sharonville Eagles

Tomahawks Team 7 defeated the Sharonville Eagles 34-20 on Saturday. The Eagles stormed out in front 20-7 just minutes before end of the first half. On the Tomahawks ensuing possession Dylan Fry and Logan Dieball connected on a 52-yard touchdown pass to bring the Tomahawks to within six points at halftime, 20-14.

Six plays and 48 yards later the Tomahawks took a 21-20 lead on a Sal Larubbio touchdown run and Logan Dieball extra point. The Tomahawks would tack on two more touchdowns bringing their record to 4-1-1.

The offensive line was led by Ryan Mayhan, Jacob Schaefer, Eli Gibson, Zach Dougherty, Bailey Lang, Michael Kotter and Conner Fritzsche. The offensive line allowed Dylan Fry to throw for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns. Larubbio scored two touchdowns and Brady Matthews had one.

Leading the team defensively were Brady Hooks, Brett Vabic, Matthew Winterman, Chris Johnson, Mac McCloy, Matthew Hetterich, Samuel Jacobson, Dylan Tesmer, Grant Lemen and Kadeen Beermann.

Lakota Tomahawks Team 16 takes down Anderson Wildcats Team 2, 13-0.

Team 16 looked quite impressive against Anderson. Bryce Johnson led the way on offense with over 100 years rushing including 2 TD's (30 yard TD & 55 yard TD). Adam Weaver crossed the end zone on a rushing play to include an extra point.

The Tomahawks defense forced 3 fumbles to win the turnover game 3-0. Zachary Niehaus recovered one of them.

Team 2 shuts down Team 5

Tomahawks Team 2 moved ahead in the CYFL playoffs by shutting out

Tomahawk Team 5, 21-0. Team 2 showed superior offensive performance as they cut, dodged and twisted loose of their opponent to score two touchdowns in the first half. More outstanding blocking by the offensive line would be key to a third and final touchdown in the fourth quarter.

The powerhouse defense of Team 2 rocked the opposing team as great tackling by several players would prove vital to Team 5 gaining very little yardage. Team 2 improves their record to 8-0 for the season with support from its awesome cheer squad.

Team 5 never gives up but falls short

Team 5 fought hard but lost to Team 2, 19-0. Contributing defensively were Jake Bouman, Joshua Bryant, Zach Brauns, Alex Jones, Zack Kozerski, Santino LaRubbio, Cole Maness, Kross Shaeffer, Robby Maher, Jacob Peddicord, Dominic Schiavone, Zach Zaidel, Derrick Apking, Nicholas Terrill, Noah Williams, Nick Hamilton, Corey Peters, Simon Anderson and Dalton Wene.

Offensive contributors were Bouman, Tyler Bridges, Bryant, Kadin Hammonds, Zach Dobrozsi, Alex Jones, Kozerski, LaRubbio, Maness, Schivone, Steven Reedy, Zaidel, Williams, Tyler Englert, Hamilton, and Peters.

The Lady Hawks consisting of Sophia Schivone, Ashley Peters, Cali Patrick, Katelyn Mitchell, Ali Hosey, Alyssa Hetterich, Harris Fields, Emily Engelke, Brooke Donovan, Ashley Cussen, Madison Chiasson, Karis Burg and Madison Beal contributed their support with super cheers and a great halftime routine.

Tomahawk Team No. 8 defeats Tomahawk Team 10

Lakota Tomahawk Team No. 8 advanced to the CYFL 5th Grade semifinals with a 14-6 victory over Lakota Tomahawk Team No. 10. Kole Gentry and Braxton Neal combined for 143 yards on the ground behind the blocking of Joseph Mattia, Michael Endicott, Adam McDonough, Brian Traub and Hayden Getz. Gentry scored on a 6 yard touchdown in the first quarter and later hooked up with Tanner Marklay on a 57 yard touchdown reception.

McDonough added a 2 point conversion kick to round out the scoring. Team No. 8's stingy defense was led by Myles Bell, Jimmy Hall, Luke Sennett, Cody Krause, Tyler Tarver, Kendric Glenn, Chase Kaiser, Nathaniel Hauck and Joseph Wendt. Other Team No.8 members include Nicholas Frank, Harland Poch, Andrew Witt, Brendan Napolitan, Alex Johnson and Mathan West. Cheering Team No.8 to victory were Miranda Bosler, Kayla Brewer, Kennedi Fields, Alexis Goodfriend, Hanna Grass, Brittany Hull, Morgan Schroeder, Sierra Wheeler, Natalie Grosick and Madison West.

Outlaws 6th Grade continue their winning streak

The Outlaws 6th grade team recorded it's fourth win defeating the Lakota White Stallions this weekend. The stifling defense of Simeon Lane, Brad Miller, Kyler Davis, Jesse Armstead, Nathan Hayes, Jack Powers, Shaun Casey, David Tourain-King, Will Ford  and Jesus Long held the Stallions to one touchdown. 

Simeon Lane  scored to tie the Outlaws and Stallions 6-6.

The offense of Curtis Hill, Cameron Briggs, Alex York, Josh Armstead, and the offensive line controlled the scoreboard during the 2nd half. Big runs by Devann Edgar and a 22 yard pass by Josh Armstead to Aailjah Harrell led to 2 yard touchdown run by Edgar. Wide receivers Alex York and Cameron Briggs continued running plays into the team and a big tackle by David Tourain-King ended the 3rd quarter. 

Continued dominance by the Outlaws defense with big tackles by Will Ford, Jesus Long, AJ Oliver left the Lakota Stallions scoreless in the 4th quarter. The offensive line continued to open holes for Edgar and Lane moving the Outlaws down the field. A 12 yard touch down pass from Armstead to Harrell put the Outlaws up 18-6. Aalijah Harrell intercepted a Stallion pass to make a 10 yard run ending the 4th quarter. Final score 18-6 Outlaws.

Outlaws Third graders beat Lakota Stallions White, 28-7

Outlaw defense shined with Kenney having 1 sack and 6 solo tackles, 3 for a loss of yards. N. Wade had 2 sacks and 3 solo tackles. A.Wade also had 3 solo tackles while Z. Wade, Salek, Mundy, Lucas and Carbonell had 2 solo tackles each. Oliver, Palmquist, Gonzalez, Kamphaus and Owens helped with 1 solo tackle each. Assisted tackles were completed by Palmquist (1), Kenney

(1), Gonzalez (1), N. Wade (2), A. Wade (2), Salek (1), Mundy (3), Kamphaus (1), Ni. Wade (1) and Owens (1). Defensive support was also given by Hammond, Langhorne, Davenport, Baur, and Lipstreu.

Outlaw offense was dominated by Z. Wade running a 55-yard touchdown, a 50 yard touchdown, an 85 yard touchdown and finally a 30 yard touchdown. Mundy and Davenport both ran in extra points.

Outlaws K-1st Grade

K-1 Outlaws finish the season with 6 and 1 with a win over the Lakota Stallions (White). On a crisp autumn morning at Niedermeyer Farm field, the Outlaws and Stallions squared off for their final regular season game. The Outlaws struck first with a 60 yard jaunt by Donovan Smith.

The Outlaw defense gave another solid effort all day led by Jackson Norman, Tom Mueller, Alexander Smith, Breiland Anderson, Isiah Stoker, Kamal Sylvester, Creed Davisson that included a couple of touchdown saving tackles by Dylan Sawyer and nice open field tackles by Jaeden Scarbrough.

Avi McGary on a counter play broke a couple tackles and ran 80 yards for a score. Helped by key blocks from Jalal Sylvester, Kellen Newland, Wesley King, Casey Perkins, Sebastian Miller, and Jonathan Ogletree, Donovan Smith scored again from 30 yards away on a little end around. Scarborough scored on the 2 point conversion.

Deyland Cardwell scored on his first carry of the season from 35 yards away on a tough run through traffic. Donovan Smith converted the PAT. Final score 28-0 Outlaws.

Outlaws 2nd Grade defeat Stallions

The West Chester Outlaws 2nd Grade advance to playoffs with a win over Stallions. Hunter Bagley, Khalis Hicks, Eric Wills and Chico Robinson anchored the Outlaw defense with 2 sacks apiece and Noah Theodore 1 interception. Other contributors: Michael Wagner, Alahn McGray, Jaylen Hunter, Kaedance Sensano, Isaiah Payton, Julian Simpson, Gavin Reeder, Myron Billups and Payton Sawyers.  

Chico Robinson got the offense rolling and opened the second half with a 65-yard TD run. Kahlis Hicks added another score on a 45-yard run with some great open field running. The Outlaws win 14-0. 

Outlaws 5th Grade roll past Stallions

The West Chester Outlaws defense shutdown the Stallions offense and generated 3 turnovers: Richard Rhodes and Seth Estes 1 fumble recovery apiece and Jacob Shannon 1 interception. 2 sacks: Brad Buckenmeyer and James Bailey one apiece. Other defensive contributors: Akintola Olagbemiro, Josiah Jackson, Rodi Deleon, Chris Bates, Vince Hall, Evan Ellis, Antonio Davis, Donnie Roark III, D'Ron Brumby, Dallas Robinson, Austin McGaha, Aaron Edwards and Larry Brown.

The Outlaws offense generated 364 yards total offense: Akintola Olagbemiro (22-yards), Larry Brown (45-yards), Evan Ellis (72-yards), and Aaron Edwards (175-yards). Aaron Edwards got the offense rolling with a 30-yard TD in 1st quarter. Mykel Chambers 2-pt conversion. Edwards scored on a 45-yard run to end the half and another to open the second half with a 50-yard run off tackle. Larry Brown scored the final TD on a 30-yard run. Outlaws win 30-0 and advance to playoffs.

Tomahawk Team 15 ties Little Miami

Lakota Tomahawk Team No. 15 played to a 0-0 deadlock against Little Miami in a true 1st Grade defensive battle at Tomahawk Stadium. Carter Hahn and Kyle McDonough each recovered 2 fumbles in the game while Logan Thomas came up with a loose ball to pace the solid Tomahawk defense. Lakota allowed Little Miami to cross the 50 yard line only once in the contest. Andrew Holloway and Zachary Currier led the Team No. 8 ground game behind the blocking of Andrew Jones, Tyler Schraer, Manny Linville, Kyle Scanlon, Brian Frank and Aaron Thomas. Other strong performances were turned in by Tony Magoch, Trey Couch, Dylan Ooten, Dominic Williams and Nathan Patrick. Tomahawk Team No. 15 is coached by Todd Frank, Greg Couch, Mike Magoch, Brian Thomas, Joe Scanlon and David Patrick. Team No. 15 cheerleaders are Holly Addington, Haley Beckham, Cecelie Collins, Celeste Enyeart, Honor Feagin, Makayla Grace, Ashley Hockenberry, Emma Krabbe, Audrey Oleson, Olivia Sayre, Ashley Schappacher, McKenna Tate and Torii Zschokke.

Tomahawks Team 9 whips Mason in playoff debut

Lakota 9 never trailed in this battle and advanced to the CYFL playoff semi-finals with a 32-16 win.

Poppy Pack scored four TD's all on long runs pushing his season TD total to 17. Pack ended the day with 150 yards rushing. Devon "DJ" Jackson added four 2 point conversion kicks to round out the scoring. Nicholas Foster also had a couple nifty runs and stepped-in at cornerback to fill in for the injured Chad Lahti. Others contributing to the win are Nick Stewart, Kris Perkins, Mark Landesman, Eric Hall and Lane Steffe

All the offensive success was due to the Team 9 offensive line blasting open huge holes in the Mason 3 defense. Offensive stars were: Blaine Griffiths, Jarin Higginbotham, Jacob Carson, Alex Perrino, Kobie Bryant, Jack Cleary, Cody O'OConnor and Trent Rogers and Nolan Redwine.

Defensively AJ Blevins recorded a sack, Nate Johnson played solidly and Emitt Enyeart keeps his steady play up at cornerback. Drew Deaton also logged some time on the defense as well.

Team 21 defeats Team 4 in playoff opener, 12-6.

Josh Harrison's 60 yard touchdown run and pass completion late in the game allowed undefeated Team 21 to hold onto a hard fought victory over Team 4. Joey Cloran was 3 for 3 passing and connected with Parker Kling on a 65 yard pass for the 1st score of the game. Defensive standouts were Logan Sims with an interception and clutch tackles along with Marcos Aull, Jacob Neltner, Bryce Alexander and Brian Adams. Other key players on defense were: Zach Bush, Justin Fuller, Alex Dodson, Tyler Davies, Wesly Coleman, John Hayes, Nick Finley, Garrett Jackson, Paul Nutley, Kling and Harrison. Whitlock, Clarke, Kolianos, Scalonge, Strong, Peters, Patterson, Wullenwebber, Potter and Demmler round out the roster. Team 21 is lead in cheers by: Kierra Davis, Sondra Dietsch, Vanessa Jackson, Isabella Knauer, Sophia, Knauer, Marissa Lindner, Libby Reichley, Marissa Sanchez, Haley Stevens and Taelor Hairston.

GMC Tennis results

At the GMC Tennis tournament, Hopewell Junior School's Taylor Holden soundly beat Sycamore Green 8-0 and then advanced to the championships by defeating a quality opponent from Ridge 8-3. Megan Caldarelli defeated Plains 8-4 and then held on to win 9-8 tiebreaker versus Sycamore Gold before falling to Mason while playing what essentially was her 5th set of the day. Leeah Floyd defeated Sycamore Green 8-4 and then went on to defeat Ridge 8-3 to advance to the championship versus Mason. In doubles, Rachel King and Jessie Perry defeated Plains 9-7 and then went on to defeat Sycamore Green 8-6 and again like Megan what amounted to their 5th set of the day fell to Mason 7-9. Also in doubles Anna Almquist and Abigail Sattler defeated Hamilton 8-0 before falling to Ridge 7-9. All matches were played with tenacity and very competitive, the girls represented the team with class and passion. They are currently in 3rd place and could finish between 2nd, 3rd and 4th after Taylor and Leeah play today. Great effort ladies!

The Hopewell Junior tennis team finished in 3rd place as Taylor Holden won the GMC 1st singles competition against Sycamore 6-2, 6-1. Great season ladies.

Lakota Team 19 wins first play off game 14-0 over Team 20

The 4th grade Lakota Tomahawks Team 19 racked up 281 yards of offense on the way to a win in week one of the playoffs against a tough, Tomahawk Team 20. Kaleb Lepper rushed for 2 TD's and finished the game with 102 yards while Andrew Acuna rushed for 117 yards. Austin Hatfield added 42 yards, Nick Sam 17 yards, while Brody Ketron threw for 35 yards. Austin Williams kicked a 2 pt conversion. Even with all of that offense, the story of the day was the stingy Team 19 defense which only gave up one first down on the day led by Tyler Towns 8 tackles and Nick Sam's 5. Andrew Binzer, Jon Fox, Tyler Bostion, Acuna and Hatfield all added three tackles. While DJ Benson, Jake Dauer, and Alex Parker all added 2. Jacob Jackson, Sam Roth, Michael Reimer, Luke Brown, Derek Swingle, and Lepper all had one. Cody Shannon caused a fumble on a sack that Chandler Forsthoffer recovered. Team 19 cheers where led by Leah Aspinwall, Sydney Campbell, Sydney Gormont, Emily Harris, Emily Oleson, Erika Orr, Tristan Philpot, Brittany Shannon, Jackie Tanner-Blair, Jessica Towns, Kelsie Wieland, and Kaelin Wieland.

Golden Bears lose heartbreaker to St. Ignatius

The 5th grade Golden Bears lost 16-8 to St. Ignatius in heartbreaking fashion. The Bears led 8-0 at the half on the strength of a 50-yd TD strike from QB Joe Ruwe to Matthew Schneider. St. Ignatius got on the board to tie things up midway through the 3rd quarter. A Bears turnover with less than 1:50 remaining in the game led to a Cougar TD to seal the deal. The Bears committed 5 turnovers.

The defense, led by Josh Theis (6 tackles), Billy Rohlfs (5 tackles), Ruwe (3 tackles), Sean Connaughton (tackle), Schneider (2 tackles), Kurtis Hoffman (2 tackles), Nathan Kiniyalocts ( 4 tackles), Michael Bair, Jake Wermes (2 tackles), Matt Schmid (10 tackles), Austin Winhusen (tackle), Michael Zuboski (tackle), John Toney (8 tackles/fumble recovery), Shane O'Conner (6 tackles), Tommy Reilly (tackle), Brian Render and Adam Garabacik (tackle), played solid all day.

The offense was led by Ruwe (4 of 8, 115 yards, TD, 2 int.), Theis (3 catches, 65 yards), and Schneider (33 yards rushing).

OCTOBER

East-West football game next week

For the second consecutive year Putters Grill will sponsor the Crosstown Football Showdown between Lakota East and West High Schools. The annual battle between the two district rivals will be held this year at Lakota East on Friday, October 26th.

"I'm extremely happy and proud that we can be part of one of the unique athletic events in our community and area," said owner Jan Collins.

Mojo Running sponsors 4-Mile Run/Walk

Mojo Running located in West Chester is sponsoring its first annual fall run/walk at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 with proceeds benefiting the Lakota School District Sports Program. The race/walk will begin at Ridge Jr. High School located at 6199 Beckett Ridge Blvd. in West Chester. Registration is $20 on or before Oct. 21 and $25 after Oct. 21 and on race day. Basketball Clinic Pre-Season tune-up is offered from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at Kings High School. Open to youth coaches for grades 2 through Jr. High. Bring your players, both boys and girls. Courts 4 Sports offers fall and winter programs

Courts4Sports, 854 Reading Road, Mason, is offering the following fall and winter leagues.

MBA Winter League tryouts for 7th and 8th grade boys and girls will be Nov. 10. Teams will have two 1-1/2 hour practices per week and 10 game season plus post season tournament.

Winter Basketball League for youth, registration continues through Nov. 14. Ages include boys and girls in grades 3 to 12. Teams are registered on a first come basis. Teams will play 10 regular season games and participate in a post season tournament.

New this year is Ronnie Grandison Basketball for kids. This program is a great introduction to basketball. Winter Term 1 is Nov. 5-Jan. 10, register now; Winter Term 2 is Jan. 21-March 24, register Dec. 10; Spring Term is March 31-June 2, register Feb. 25. Age divisions for both boys and girls are: Lil Shooters, ages 4-6; Lil Shooters Advanced, ages 4-6; Rim Rockers, ages 7-9; All Stars, ages 10-12.

Also offering Ignition Futsal League for ages U8 to U14, plus high school age with 12 game season on Friday nights. McGee's Courts 4 Sports is the "official home of the Ignition Futsal League." Register your team now.

New this year is McGee's Volleyball Academy with participation in Junior Olympic Volleyball program. Late registration for Lakota Wrestling Club

Late registration for the Lakota Kids Wrestlig Club will be on Nov. 1 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Lakota West High School. The club is open to all elementary school kids in grades 1-6. Practices are twice a week at the Lakota Wrestling Room on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The sesaon begins on Nov. 2 and concludes in February. Fast Pitch Softball Clinic offered

The Payne (Ohio) Ball Association will be hosting a fast-pitch softball pitching and hitting clinic on Nov. 3 and 4. Hitting and pitching clinics will be held for beginner to intermediate players on Nov. 3 with a more advanced session for older players on Nov. 4.

The clinic will be presented by Bob Pelle, who is known both nationally and internationally for his softball expertise. Pelle has worked several former USA Olympic team members as well as many college athletes.

Thunder United Metro will hold soccer tryouts for U7 and U8 Boys and Girls at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Lebanon Sports Complex.
