"First of all, it was a good tournament with a good draw and good teams in there," Kings coach Mario Contardi said. "We came up short in some places.
"I think it was a good experience for them overall," he added. "It gives them an idea of where they're at and what they need to do to get better. As a whole, we're playing well."
The Knights — who were without sophomore first singles player Chase Custer (illness) — were led by the second doubles team of senior John Garich and junior Alex Polishuk, who won the title with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Elder's Blake Wauligman and Kyle Smith.
"They played awesome," Contardi said. "They had some good matches, close matches, and in the finals, they played well."
Contardi also was impressed with sophomore third singles player Kent Fagan, who was recently promoted from the JV team.
• Little Miami finished second in Flight E, led by Tyler Fraser's first singles championship.
