Springboro, Clearcreek Twp. hosting Night Out

Staff Report

Thursday, July 24, 2008

SPRINGBORO — The city of Springboro and Clearcreek Twp. police departments are once again hosting National Night Out at Patricia Allyn Park on Ohio 48 in Clearcreek Twp. on Aug. 5.

The event begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.

This event is a fun way for parents and children to get to know your local law enforcement officers.

Among the entertainment for the evening is a free cookout, pony rides, train rides for the younger guests, K-9 demonstrations, law enforcement informational booths and more.

The police department is still seeking volunteers to help with the National Night Out Celebration.

Current summer school seniors and 2008-09 senior class members may be able to get five hours of community service credit towards fulfilling community service hour obligations for government courses by volunteering.

Arrangements must be made with Sgt. Don Wilson, who will be overseeing this project, before the event. E-mail him at dwilson@springboro.org or call him at (937) 748-0611.
