Cornhole partners hope to expand popularity of mini game

Will you buy mini-cornhole?

Jim Herrmann and J.P. Ragon hope their new business partnership is a "swish" in the world of mini-cornhole.

Hermmann, a Fairfield resident and owner of the Original Table Top Cornhole, and Ragon, a Germantown resident and owner of Cornhole.com, have partnered to form Mini Cornhole, LLC.

Mini Cornhole will serve as the supplier of Herrmann's mini version to Cornhole.com and the Original Table Top Cornhole.

They said a desire of the "perfect travel version" is growing.

Ragon, a gym teacher, said the game is already being used in hospitals, retirement facilities and schools.

"There's 10 pages worth of cornhole boards," Herrmann said of online searches. "You go to search table top or mini, there's a half a page."

But they said the desire of the travel version is growing. And said it was a "no-brainer" to collaborate.

"As we had talked over the last couple of years of his success and my success, we kind of saw we could maybe work together in the future, but never verbalized that," said Herrmann, who is now a part time insurance agent due to the success of his company.

Herrmann and Ragon want to flood the market. Their goal is to bring the mini game to retailers while still selling it online. The mini game is now being mass manufactured.

"If someone wants a 500-board order or 1,000-board order, we can do that," said Ragon, who also owns mycornhole.com and cornholestore.com.

They believe table top cornhole will take off, especially with the reach of Ragon's Web sites. Both men sell their games around the country, but Ragon said he has reached pockets where cornhole isn't yet well known.

"I've gotten an order of a board this year from a guy in Oregon," Ragon said. "He said he'll be the only guy at the Oregon Ducks game with a cornhole board."

People will see it, play it and then, hopefully, order their own, he said. Then they will see the mini version online.

"We see it being like your favorite card game, or a well-known board game," Herrmann said. "Instead of getting out Monopoly or Chutes and Ladders, get out cornhole."

Jim and Diana, we are so happy for you both. Julie and I knew that you would make it big. Our office is proud to say that we are part of the start. Your games have proven to be an excellent marketing idea for our oral surgery practice. Good Luck to continued success.

Who are these two guys? These sets are all over the place offered by dozens of companies. Sorry guys… Your “original” idea is not so original.

I can say that “I was there from the beginning of the Original Table Top Cornhole.” I’ve seen it grow and expand and I’ve seen and heard the enthusiasm of Jim and Diana’s customers. Congratulations on this newest expansion! You’ll be getting orders from all over, but don’t forget Cincinnati. GO UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI BEARCATS!

I have already bought several games from this company and everyone I have given one to is quite surprised by its size and loves it. In fact, I gave one to our company President w/ the company logo on it and he loved it! Keeps it in his conference room. Great gift!

Jim you are the ORIGINAL! Has it been 5 years already since your first table top game? Seeing copies of your game at flea markets is a testament to your great idea. Like I said before “I wish I would have thought of it!”

website is pretty bad, no online ordering is not going to flood the market with anything. Nobody wants to pick up a phone and talk to someone, especially when you would probably by something like this as an impulse buy. It’s probably already cost them sales.

Good luck however.

Just went to the website. Looks like it was done by a fifth grader. They don’t have online ordering, have a local phone number to call, pictures look like they were taken with a cell phone, and it’s the same crap you can buy at the flea market for a lot less. When they say they want to flood the market, they must mean the supermarket. Looks like they’re ready to sell at least 100 of them this year. Go team !

What a revolution. This garbage has been out for years. Why go to a website, you can’t turn the corner without seeing someone selling it already.

My girlfriend likes cornhole though.
