Four Miami students arrested during protest

OXFORD ‹ Four people were arrested during a gathering that drew thousands
Monday night to protest Miami University¹s decision to hold classes Tuesday.
The protest outside of Miami President David Hodge¹s home drew an estimated
3,000 and agencies throughout Butler County were called in to assist,
according to the Oxford Police Department.
Those arrested included two Miami students: Zachery Burns, 21, and Molly
Bowers, 21; and Adam Spotts, 23, and Brandon Organ, 23, according to the
Oxford Police Department. They all face misdemeanor charges, according to
police.
The gathering started early in the evening on U.S. 27 and by 10:30 p.m. ‹
with the situation ³deteriorating² ‹ mutual aid throughout Butler County was requested, according to police.
Those agencies responding included police departments from West Chester
Twp., Middletown, Hamilton, Fairfield, Fairfield Twp., Monroe, Butler County
Metro Parks, Oxford Township, Ross Twp., Butler County Sheriff¹s Office,
Miami University and Oxford, Oxford police said.
