Dad presides at daughter's promotion

Lee Anne (Green) Vitatoe was promoted to the rank of Commander at the Human Systems Engineering building at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md., on July 1.

Her father, Captain John Green (ret.), of Oxford, was the presiding officer for the ceremony. Vitatoe's husband, David, and son, Nicolas, assisted Capt. Green in pinning on Cdr. Vitatoe's new shoulder boards.

The event was attended by more than 50 people from Pennsylvania, Ohio and Maryland.

Cdr. Vitatoe works as the Assistant Program Manager for PMA-202 (Air Crew Systems for United States Navy and United States Marine Corps Aviation) at the Naval Air Station. The Commander and her family reside in Lusby, Md.

She is the daughter of John and Joan Green, of Oxford, and is a 1989 graduate of Talawanda High School. She received her bachelor of science degree from Miami University in 1993 followed by a master of science degree, also from Miami, in 1994.

Her husband, David, is also a Talawanda High School and Miami University graduate.
