MONROE — A Hamilton woman and her 11-month baby were taken by medical helicopter to a hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Ohio 4 Thursday afternoon, July 24.
Two of the occupants, Amy Adams, 31, and her child were taken to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton after the crash that occurred just before 4:30 p.m. on Ohio 4 just south of the former Lesourdsville Lake amusement park, according to Monroe police.
Amy Adams was reported in fair condition Thursday evening.
Police said the child was stable and reportedly had no injuries.
There was no information on the child at Miami Valley Hospital or at Dayton Children's Hospital late Thursday night.
Police said the driver, Charlene Messer, 34, was taken by medical helicopter to University Hospital in Cincinnati.
According to police, all three were traveling in a 1993 Izuzu pickup truck north on Ohio 4 in the left lane when the truck went off the left side of the road.
Police said the driver overcorrected, sending the truck back across Ohio 4 and off the right side of the road, where the truck flipped and landed on the driver's side.
Fire crews had to extricate all three from the truck.
The Butler County Sheriff's Office was assisting Monroe and Liberty Twp. units at the scene.
Traffic was backed up for several miles on the northbound and southbound sides of Ohio 4, according to those on the scene.
Some motorists on the southbound side of Ohio 4 were able to turn around over to the northbound side while others were stuck during rush hour traffic.
