Chorus to showcase singing style

The Delta Kings Barbershop Chorus invites all men who like to sing to the "Come Sing With Us" event from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Monday, July 14, at St. Susanna's Harry Meyer Center, 500 Reading Road. No vocal training or musical knowledge is necessary for this free event. Attendees will learn and participate in a capella four-part barbershop harmony singing; hear demonstrations by quartets and octets; join in the singing and receive coaching in vocal techniques; and see how the Kings benefit the community.

Beck comedy tour

to appear in Mason

Glenn Beck's summer comedy tour will appear live in high definition, one night only in theaters nationwide. The two-hour show will be simulcast live at 8 p.m. July 17 at the Regal Deerfield Towne Center Stadium 16. The national radio and television personality combines storytelling and comedy into a routine in the tradition of George Carlin and Bill Cosby.

Kids can go for the gold at cooking camp

A series of Olympic-themed day camps will get kids cooking in the kitchen while focusing on international flavors at Young Chefs Academy, 6691 Western Row Road. Class themes vary weekly. Each session runs 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays through Thursdays, and is $175 per session.

Whole Foods offers full plate of events

Whole Foods Market presents a variety of events in July to appeal to all ages and tastes.

Fridays continue to be fabulous from 6 to 8 p.m. with wine or beer pairings with complementary dishes. Cost is $5 and includes wine glass. Drop in from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays for Saturday Tastings, a weekly themed event that allows shoppers to taste their way through the store. On Tuesday, July 15, the first 50 shoppers who bring in a Whole Foods reusable bag will receive another one free of charge. The Half Pint Club, geared for ages 3-8 with an adult, dips into foods of interest to the younger set from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays in July and August.

Free cooking classes, with the Mason Public Library, will channel creative energy into new dishes for the summer season from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, or July 24. Register by calling Paula at (513) 398-9358.

The month ends with a farmers' market from 4 to 7 p.m. July 30 in the parking lot. Buy fresh produce and flowers and support the local farmers, while enjoying live music, children's activities and grilled favorites.

Everman to sign books at Barnes and Noble

Northern Kentucky native Ellen Everman will be signing copies of her latest work, "Pink Dice," from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Barnes and Noble, 9891 Waterstone Blvd. The novel is created from a collection of short stories written mostly about her younger days, living along the Ohio River.
