Staff Report

Wednesday, July 02, 2008

Three people were hospitalized Tuesday, July 1, after their vehicle became lodged under a tractor trailer on I-71 in Washington Twp.

Adra Lavender of Cincinnati was driving a Ford Explorer southbound on I-71 when she failed to assure a safe distance and ran into the back of a tractor trailer driven by Thomas Hamby of Cocoa, Florida. The vehicle became partially wedged under the truck, trapping the front seat passenger.

Hamby was not injured, but Lavender was taken by medical helicopter to University Hospital. Her condition is not available.

Two passengers were treated at Bethesda Arrow Springs and released, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
