Area company fined $87,000 by EPA

Staff Writer

Thursday, June 26, 2008

West Chester Twp. based Three Bond U.S.A. will pay $87,000 in fines for violations of air pollution regulations.

The company exceeded its permitted amount of air pollution in 2005, according to a release sent Thursday, June 26, by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. The company coats metal and plastic parts, and the coating process released pollutants.

EPA reported the company now complies with Ohio's air pollution laws. The civil penalty it is paying, connected with the 2005 violations, includes $59,000 to administer Ohio EPA's air pollution control programs, $10,000 to conduct a pollution prevention study at the West Chester Twp. facility and $17,400 to support Ohio EPA's clean diesel school bus program.
