Stoplight cables fall due to truck on fire

WEST CHESTER TWP. — A truck loaded with hay caught fire Monday evening on the exit ramp from Southbound Interstate 75 to Cincinnati Dayton Road. The bridge over Interstate 75 was closed off, according to witnesses at the scene. The fire was hot enough to cause stoplight cables to burn and fall to the ground, said West Chester Twp. Fire Chief Anthony Goller. He expects that the bridge could be closed for an hour or more as officials wait for Duke Energy to arrive and make repairs.
Fire crews were working to completely extinguish the smoldering truck at 6:45 p.m. Monday.
