LIBERTY TWP. — Five residents submitted resumes in advance of last week's deadline to be appointed by township trustees as Liberty's next fiscal officer.

Those candidates include Charles R. Bright, an audit manager for Northrop Grumman Corporation; Michael G. Froehle, an accounting supervisor for L&W Supply Corporation; Paul E. McFarland, vice president of finance and administration for Standex Electronics, Inc.; Jennifer L. Newman, a Lakota Local School District teacher; and Pam Quinlisk, a bookkeeper for Hendrix Transport, Inc.

Roger Reynolds served as the township's fiscal officer from November 2003 until April 15, when he resigned to be appointed Butler County auditor. Trustees voted April 17 to approve Frank Peters as a temporary replacement for the position.

Township Administrator Dina Minneci said trustees are scheduled to interview candidates this week and appoint someone to the position during a May 5 meeting.

Whoever they appoint would be required to run in the November 2009 election to fill the remainder of a four-year term that expires in April 2012, Minneci said.
