WEST CHESTER TWP. — Butler County Engineer's office spokesman Chris Petrocy said area officials expect IKEA West Chester will attract 10,000 cars of shoppers a day over the coming weekend.
"We pretty much have to plan on that for the next few days," he said, "especially as we're approaching the weekend."

To accommodate the crush, Petrocy said 25 to 30 officers from West Chester Police and Ohio State Highway Patrol are working to guide traffic along planned routes to the store and an overflow parking lot, located at the corner of Cincinnati-Dayton Road and Union Centre Boulevard on the former site of Queen City Sports Complex.
"We're trying to steer IKEA event traffic in a certain direction," he said, noting that the influx of IKEA traffic is expected to moderate over the coming weeks.
"This has been a little bit unusual," he said.
