THS soph attends leadership program

Oxford resident and Talawanda High School sophomore Kathleen Jordan attended the National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC)in Washington D.C. from April 10-15.

Jordan is 16 years old and is a straight A student on the school's honor roll. Her school activities include having an editorial section in "Talawanda Tribune" called Kathleen's Corner. She also plays varsity soccer as a midfielder, and swims on Talawanda's swim team in the FAVC Scarlet Division. She has received honors for her achievements as a student/athlete.

Her honors include the Margaret Witt Service Award 2004-05, President's Educational Award Program, Sons of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award, Certificate of Merit NYLSC, National Honor Roll 2006-07.

The NYLC is a six-day program that provides high school scholars with the opportunity to interact with a government officials, news media, and international community.

Middle School students 'On-A-Roll'

Talawanda Middle School has released the list of students on their "On-A-Roll" list for the thrid quarter of the 2006-07 academic year.

To qualify for the list students must not miss more than three school days during a quarter, be passing all classes and have teacher recommendations which includes having all homework turned in on time and complete as well as participating in classroom activities and cooperating in the classroom. A student must have a number 25 in all but two classes. All qualifications must be met.
