Business grows to storefront location
Sunday, July 20, 2008
Tim Huber's desire to leave the corporate workplace and his more than 16 years of experience in the embroidery business led him and his wife, Vicki, to start their own business in their basement in March 2006.
That business, DigiStitch Embroidery Inc., was incorporated in April and has moved to a storefront in a shopping plaza west of Waynesville. The store's address is 1557-A Ohio 73.
DigiStitch will celebrate its grand opening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 26.
The Hubers decided to move out of their basement to a storefront because they were seeing tremendous growth.
"We were growing every year and wanted to get out into the public eye more and have a storefront for people to try shirts on," Tim Huber said. "(And) we needed more room for the screen printing operation that we purchased when we moved in here."
Tim Huber manages the day-to-day business operation while Vicki, whose professional background is in finance, manages the invoicing, vendor payments and bookkeeping.
The move and expansion brought the addition of more equipment, including another embroidery machine, two new vinyl/appliqué cutters, a heat-press and a complete screen print operation. It also includes a showroom featuring a new line of earth-friendly "green wear" and a large selection of high school "spirit wear" designs. In addition, customers can watch the embroidery work through special viewing windows.
DigiStitch's team also includes Wendy Hancock, who has extensive expertise in "spirit wear" apparel.
