Springboro-based Kelchner Inc., 50 Advanced Drive, gleaned a $1.18 million contract for the reconstruction of infrastructure in the central portion of Tech Town, an area generally bounded by Taylor Street, Meigs Street from Monument Avenue to about 350 feet north of Monument.

The work involves removing existing infrastructure and installing new storm/sanitary sewers, water lines and utility conduits along with asphalt pavement, curb, sidewalks, brick pavers, street lights and trees.

Nine bids were received on the project that will be funded by a Federal financial assistance award from the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers.

The landscaping design for the Tech Town park will be handled by Vivan Llambi and Associates based in Fort Mitchell, Ky.

Funding for this $107,880 contract comes from a reimbursable Clean Ohio Conservation Fund grant.

City officials first announced plans in 2003 to convert the former Harrison Radiator factory into a high-tech business park. Construction of the first building on the site is now under way.
