Everything we know about "My Baby's Daddy" we learned from the press kit. Why? Because reviewers and reporters were abruptly barred from this week's promotional preview screenings. Not a good sign of quality in our moviegoing experience.

"My Baby's Daddy" is the saga of three diehard bachelors (Eddie Griffin, Anthony Anderson, Michael Imperioli) whose carefree partying days come to an abrupt halt when three babies suddenly arrive in their lives, turning the men into instant fathers. If the synopsis makes you think of a hip-hop "Three Men and Three Babies," well, we did, too.

Anyway, Tuesday morning an e-mail showed up, sent by Miramax Films, announcing that "there are still changes being made" to the film, and therefore it cannot be reviewed. Rather than cancel the screening and disappoint members of the public who had scored tickets, the studio directed its publicists nationwide "to turn away any press who might show up."

After considering donning glasses, beards and other disguises to sneak in and report on the almost completed film, we decided not to go where we weren't wanted and to rent "Parenthood" instead.
