READ THE REVIEW

The Palm Beach Post: B
"You would not be surprised if you had encountered Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont on the telly — the BBC, maybe — but (Joan) Plowright's delicate and subtle performance lifts it into the realm of a theatrical film."

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: C+
"You may not recognize the names, but glance around the Claremont and you're probably looking at a half-dozen former Lady Macbeths and Lady Bracknells."
