Bright, bold colors and jewels will dominate area proms as students express themselves on a night they are sure never to forget.

Everything from regal ball gowns to slinky little numbers that are bound to make dads bar the doors are on the market.
Take risks, but don't go overboard.
"You want to be remembered for what you wear, not for what you don't wear," said Rhonda See, a sales consultant at Lillian's bridal shop in Centerville.
There are numerous dresses on the market that will allow prom-goers to get noticed and remembered.
