Great places to take your mom (or for your family to take you) on Mother's Day

Comment: Describe your perfect Mother's Day

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

Several Dayton-area restaurants that are usually closed on Sundays are throwing their doors open to accommodate Mother's Day diners — and not just because it happens to be the most popular day of the year to dine out.

"Hey, I figure I've got to cook for my own mother anyway, so I might as well open the restaurant," said Keith Taylor, chef-owner of Savona Ristorante and Enoteca in Centerville. "She'll be here."

Extras

Trying to predict which restaurants will serve up the finest fare in the most festive atmosphere is kind of like asking Mom which are her favorite children, but here are a few solid bets, along with some alternatives in case these eateries can't fit you in at the time you desire.

Because if you haven't made your reservations yet, you need to pick up the phone pronto.

Michelle … it sure does sound like you have a great husband. And from what I understand, he’s extremely handsome as well. You might be the luckiest woman on the face of the planet.

To visit with my Mother. Spent time with my daughter and son and their families if possible. But the main thing is NOT TO COOK A MEAL that day.
