Public meeting seeks ideas for new high school
Friday, January 16, 2009
The Talawanda School District will hold a community engagement session to seek community input on the design of the new high school at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the Talawanda High School auditeria.
SHP Leading Design, the district's architect, will facilitate an interactive audience feedback session on the exterior design style that the community prefers for the new school.
Multiple examples of school architecture will be presented to allow the community to provide input on their personal, community-wide and site specific views about the appropriateness of different styles, which will guide the architect in developing a unique solution for the Talawanda community.
The input is via a live audience response system using TurningPoint software technology, which allows the audience to be directly engaged in the process and well as see instant results of the entire audience response as the process unfolds. This event provides a learning opportunity for all involved — the district, the community members and the architect.
Everyone in attendance will be involved and will be heard, district officials said.
