Tuesday, December 02, 2008

OXFORD — Several residences of Miami University students were burglarized during the Thanksgiving break when many students went home for the holidays, according to a university e-mail sent to students on Tuesday Dec. 2.

Students were advised that Oxford police reported multiple break-ins from Nov. 25-30 of homes on South Beech Street, North Campus Avenue, West Collins Avenue and West Withrow Street. Burglars stole flat-screen televisons, CDs, DVDs and video game consoles and games, according to the e-mail.

Students were reminded to lock doors and windows and to place discreet identifying tags on valuable items. Students also may sign up for a free house check service with Oxford police for when they are away at cityofoxford.org.

Anyone with information about the burglaries, is asked to call Oxford police at (513) 524-5240.
