FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. — Police found a gun in Brookville Lake that was possibly used to kill a Hanover Twp. man whose body was found earlier this week, according to the Indiana State Police in Connersville.
Dive teams searched for hours and recovered the firearm late Wednesday, March 5, near the bridge where the body of 57-year-old David L. Colwell was found, said Indiana State Police spokesman John Bowling. Colwell was found dead with a gunshot wound by his silver 2004 Ford pick-up at around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, on Fairfield Causeway Road, a bridge crossing the Brookville Reservoir. Family members told police that Colwell had driven to Franklin County to meet with someone.
