The fire was reported at about 9:59 p.m. Friday in the 4500 block of Brackenview Court. Children were reportedly inside the burning home.
According to Mason Police Officer Troy Nelson, the structure fire was put out right away; however, one adult and three juveniles were taken by ambulance to area hospitals. Their conditions were not released by officials Friday night.
"The wounds that were seen on some of the victims were not consistent with a fire," Nelson said.
Firefighters arrived within two to three minutes of receiving the call.
Local fire investigators as well as a state fire marshal were also dispatched to the scene. However, investigators were not saying how the fire was started.
While the blaze was put down quickly, some damage to the two-story home in a quiet cul-de-sac in the Hickory Woods subdivision near the Mason Early Childhood Center could be seen. The owner of the five-bedroom home is listed as Michel Veilette, according to Warren County property tax records.
The only damage that could be seen from the street was an upstairs window at the center of the home that had been blackened from the fire damage.
Firefighters from West Chester, Liberty Twp., Turtlecreek Twp., Deerfield Twp., Mason and South Lebanon converged on the scene to put the fire out. Emergency personnel kept the media away from the fire scene and directed to the nearby school.
