Art will be all over Oxford area this weekend
Friday, October 26, 2007
This weekend, area artists will get a chance to share their world with the community as the sixth annual Art All Over Tour takes place.
The tour features local artists in their studios and homes throughout the area. The self-guided driving tour will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Debra Bowles began the project six years ago with 12 area artists.
"I wanted to create a venue for area artists to get involved with the public," Bowles said.
The tour spans 15 miles with many artists out in the rural parts of Oxford, as well as cities such as Hamilton, Fairfield and Liberty, Ind.
This year, the tour will include 13 stops with artists featuring works such as paintings, block prints, jewelry, knitting, weaving, pottery, architects, beeswax candles and goats milk soaps.
Bowles hopes the tour will give the public a glimpse of the artists in their natural habitats.
"It's not the same as going to an art show," Bowles said, "You get to see the inspiration and what drives the art."
Bowles sees this as a very necessary thing for local artists, as Oxford is not considered an "art area."
To take the tour, pick up a brochure complete with map and artist briefs at the Oxford Community Art Center, Bill's Art Store, Lane Public Library and various other retail locations throughout Oxford.
