NASCAR driver back in court on drug charges

LEBANON — NASCAR driver Aaron Fike was arraigned Wednesday in Warren County Common Pleas Court on charges of possession of heroin and drug abuse instruments.
Fike, 24, of North Carolina was arrested July 7 when police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and two people engaging in suspicious activity in the parking lot at the Kings Island amusement park in Mason.

Fike and his fiancee, Cassandra Davidson, 21, attempted to drive away but were blocked by police, who said they discovered bloody napkins, syringes, a spoon and black tar heroin in their vehicle.
Davidson is scheduled to appear in court on the same changes Oct. 11.
Fike, the younger brother of former NASCAR driver A.J. Fike, is the driver of the No. 1 Toyota Tundra for Red Horse Racing in the Craftsman Truck Series. He competed at the Kentucky Speedway in 2005 and 2006 in the NASCAR Busch Series race.
He began racing in 2001 in the USAC Silver Crown Series. Fike became the youngest driver to win a Silver Crown race, breaking NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon's record, and finished 10th in points, earning him the Rookie of the Year award.
Fike has also won seven midget feature races in addition to winning the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association championship, and was named National Midget driver of the year in 2002-03. He also won the Infiniti Pro Series races at Chicagoland in 2002 and Pikes Peak in 2003.
