This year's Agriculture Week baby for McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital is the first child of April and Jeremy McCarnan, of Reily.

Young Hunter McCarnan was welcomed by the ladies of the Promotion and Education Department of the Butler County Farm Bureau with a basket full of gifts. The committee each year presents the gift to the family of the first baby born in each of four hospitals in the county born during National Agriculture Week, held March 18-24, the first week of spring.

Extras

Hunter was born early in the week, coming at 7:22 a.m. Sunday, March 18, at McCullough-Hyde.

The baby was 8 pounds, 12 ounces and 21 inches long at birth.

Presenting the basket of gifts were Sarah James and Sarah Jane Nichol.

The basket included a handmade teddy bear, handmade baby's first book, electrical outlet plugs, a smoke detector donated by the Butler County Farm Bureau youth group, a $25 gift certificate from Kroger's, a first aid book, a rose plant and a baby's bib.
