Sojourner Series sets spring concert season

Sojourner Recovery Services has announced the lineup for its 2009 Sojourner Concert Series:

• Stacy Mitchhart, Jan. 24, plays a blend of blues, gospel, rock and other classic and contemporary styles. Born in Cincinnati, he won the 2003 Albert King Award for Best Guitar Player and the Music City Blues Society's Electric Blues Act of the Year award in 2004. Tickets are $17 and $20.

• Poco, Feb. 6, formed by Richie Furay and Jim Messina following the demise of Buffalo Springfield in 1968, was one of the first groups to pioneer country-rock music. Tickets are $25 and $30.

• Roger McGuinn, March 14, was a founding member of the Byrds, the folk/rock band whose hits included "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Turn, Turn, Turn." Since 2001, McGuinn's work has focused on recording and cataloging folk music. Tickets are $25 and $30.

• Colin Hay, April 25, made his mark during the 1980s as lead vocalist of the Australian band Men at Work, and now also is a working actor with recent television appearances on "Scrubs." Tickets are $25 and $30.

The concerts are sponsored by Mercy Hospital Fairfield to benefit Sojourner Recovery Services, a nonprofit organization that provides chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment for individuals and their families.
