HAMILTON — The Ohio Mozart Festival, the Hamilton Fairfield Symphony Orchestra's annual attempt to bring a bit of the Old World to Butler County, has expanded its offerings again for next year's installment.

The celebration now will take place over eight days — "The Mozart Octave" — with a variety of events, said Paul John Stanbery, music director and conductor.

But before the first note is played in April, the annual Mozart Angel Tea takes place from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 6 to raise funds for the extravaganza at the home of Monty and Jane Jacobs, 520 Crescent St. To make a reservation for the tea or a donation to the fund, call (513) 895-5151.

The festival kicks off with a new event, a 5K run/walk dubbed "Meters for Mozart," an April 18 event which includes prizes, music and trophies.

A wine tasting with live musical accompaniment takes place that evening in a private residence.

"Mozart's Night Out" will celebrate happy hour at a local pub, to be announced, with celebrity bartenders, special music and an appearance by Wolfgang Mozart — or some reasonable facsimile — on April 22.

The first concert is April 25, with chamber players following a dinner and silent auction at the Wilks Center, Miami University Hamilton.

The Grand Finale Concert will be April 26 at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton St., in Hamilton, with "The Afterglow" following at the Riverbank Cafe.

Stanbery encourages reservations for the dinner and Afterglow, which can be made by calling (513) 895-5151.
