Bean chowder
1 pound sausage
1 can Great Northern beans
1 can stewed tomatoes
2 large potatoes, cut into chunks or diced
1 1/2 teaspoons basil
On the stove top in a skillet, cook sausage and drain.
On the stove top in a deep pot, add cooked sausage, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, and basil. Stir and simmer, uncovered, on a medium heat for 45 minutes. (Precook the potatoes to ensure that they're done.)
Yield: 6 servings.
