Despite nursing an ankle injury, C.J. Spiller was ready to go for Thursday night's game against the Browns. He finished with 66 yards and a touchdown on eight carries in Week 5. Spiller showed off his explosive speed while breaking away for a 54-yard score in the third quarter.
The Bills didn't overwork Spiller, so his ankle likely is not 100 percent yet. However, he didn't appear to be limited at all while busting off the second longest run of his career.
Fantasy impact: Fred Jackson took twice as many carries as Spiller, which likely is more of a statement about the health of the two running backs. With extra time to prepare for his next game, Oct. 13, against the Bengals, Spiller should be ready for an expanded role, barring any setbacks.
Buffalo continues to frustrate fantasy owners with its usage of Spiller. He didn't receive a single target in the passing game again. It's hard to believe a player with this much talent can be underutilized so often.
