Moves like Jagger? It's more like, "words like daggers," as Lady Gaga and Adam Levine appear to have some harsh words for one another.
The Voice judge Adam Levine is currently at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas with his band Maroon 5, and it appears that he's not a fan of every artist there.
On September 20, A-Lev took to Twitter to offer a vague criticism of a musician whom he apparently isn't fond of.
"Ugh..recycling old art for a younger generation doesn't make you an artist," Adam writes. "It makes you an art teacher." Nothing wrong with being a teacher though, right?
Then, he added this: "I unabashedly love writing and performing pop music for both myself AND everyone around me. That's It. It doesn't need any extra sauce."
Uh, okay. But what exactly is he referring to? And what is this extra sauce? Is it like the McDonald's secret sauce on their Big Macs? Because that would be delicious.
However, even if Lady Gaga wasn't the intended target of the diatribe, she certainly took offense to it. Shortly after Adam wrote his tweets, Lady Gaga tweeted: "Uh-oh, guys — the art police is here."
And when a Twitter follower asked Gaga if Adam indeed had been throwing shade on her, Gaga responded with, "That's us, changing the world. Twisting the panties of one pop star at a time."
Whoa! Was Adam's comment even about her? Either way, the two definitely have started a Twitter beef, whether that was the initial intention or not.
And we suppose we understand why Lady Gaga would take offense, but her comments seem a little harsh. Did she really need to insult him by using the "twisting panties" expression? Shouldn't she be above using cross-dressing or effeminate imagery as an insult?
At any rate, we're guessing Adam and Lady Gaga won't be offering "applause" for the other person anytime soon.
