Children’s theater program to stage ‘Pied Piper’ play

Miami University Performing Arts Series presents Missoula Children’s Theatre’s Summer Workshop and Performance, Aug. 10-15 at Hall Auditorium, High Street at Campus Avenue, Oxford.

Each afternoon, participants will rehearse and produce a full-scale musical with up to 64 local children as cast and crew.

Workshops and rehearsals are Aug. 10-14 and the performance will be 
Aug. 15.

There are 60 roles for young actors ages 6-18 and four assistant directors ages 10 and older. Registration is opens on a first come, first serve basis in each age group. The cast is limited to 20 students ages 6-7 and 40 older students ages 8-18.

The cast will take part in rehearsals and workshops led by Missoula Children’s Theatre staff and Miami University theatre students. Workshops are optional, but students must attend each rehearsal for their age group.

A snack and alternative activities will be provided for non-rehearsing students.

The Pied Piper is in collaboration with the Talawanda Miami Partnership. A portion of the profits from registration fees will support the Talawanda High School Drama program and the Performing Arts Series community outreach and education activities.
