The following is a list of local attractions open for the fall and Halloween season. Group rates are available at some attractions. To submit your event, e-mail butlercountynews@coxohio.com or warrencountynews@coxohio.com.

Fall attractions

• Barn-n-Bunk Fall Festival Weekends: Ohio 73 and Wayne Madison Road, Trenton. Weekends, Sept. 25 through Oct. 31. Includes horse-drawn hayrides, mazes, entertainment. Admission, parking free.

• Howl-O-Fest: For children, at Kings Island in Mason. Noon to 5:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Sept. 24-Oct. 30. Tickets, park admission, $27.99; event free with park admission. Takes place in the picnic grove at Kings Island.

• Jack-o-Lantern Junction: For children at EnterTRAINment Junction, 7379 Squire Court, West Chester Twp. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily Sept. 25-Oct. 31. Tickets, $9.95-$12.95; children younger than 3 are free.

• Niederman Family Farm: 5110 Lesourdesville West Chester Road, Liberty Twp. 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays, and 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays, mid-September through Oct. 31. Tickets, $9; children 6 and younger are free. Bonfire reservation fee required.

• Pumpkin Patch Express: Lebanon Mason & Monroe Railroad, 127 S. Mechanic St., Lebanon. 9:45 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays Oct. 2-31. Tickets, $8.50, toddlers ages 2-4; $15.50, seniors and children ages 5-16; $18.50, adults; infants 1 and younger are free.

Festivals

• Country Applefest: Downtown Lebanon. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 25. Admission is free. Crafts, food, bake-off, entertainment.

• Minges Pumpkin Festival: 10109 New Haven Road, Harrison. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 16 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 17. Parking free. Admission: $5; children 3 and younger are free. Bands, pie-eating, children’s entertainment, crafts.

Haunts

• The Chambers of Horror, 1601 S. University Blvd., Middletown (in the former Cambridge Inn building). 8 p.m. to midnight Fridays, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturdays, Sept. 17-Oct. 30. Tickets, $10. Patrons with canned goods receive $1 off admission, goods go to the Hope House.

• Haunted Wood Hayride: Izaak Walton League, 450 Beissinger Road, Hamilton. 7:11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 1-31. Hayrides open at dusk, tickets sell through 11 p.m. Tickets, $8; children younger than 3 are free. Patrons with canned goods receive $1 off admission, goods go to Shared Harvest Food Bank.

• Halloween Haunt: Kings Island, Mason. 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays Sept. 24-Oct. 30. Tickets include full day admission, $21.99 on Fridays, $27.99 on Saturdays.

• Land of Illusion Haunted Theme Park: 8726 Thomas Road, Middletown. 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 8 to 11:30 p.m. Sundays, now through Oct. 31. Tickets, $29.95; VIP Fast Pass, $39.95; Sunday admission, $24.95.

• USS Nightmare: 101 Riverboat Row, Newport, Ky. 7 to 11 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays; 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays Sept. 17-Oct. 31. Ticket prices vary per attraction, general admission, $16.
