Italian food lovers will want to check out Hamilton's newest restaurant inside the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. Amici's features cuisine that adds a new twist to some traditional Italian favorites and the menu was inspired by the current popularity of Italian cooking.

"I created an Italian menu because Italian cooking is very popular right now with everyone trying dishes they see on the Food Network," said Executive Chef Jan (pronounced Yawn) Grimm.

Amici's offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and the restaurant has a contemporary feel with open seating and a full service bar. The restaurant makes up a large part of the hotel lobby and internet access and private media booths are available.

Breakfast at Amici's includes Scrambled Eggs on a Croissant and egg whites with turkey and spinach on an English muffin.

The lunch menu offers a variety of pastas such as Spaghetti agli a olio, which is tossed in olive oil, garlic, pine nuts and parsley. Panini sandwiches include Prosciuto, Gorgonzola and Fontina cheese on griddled country bread and Roasted Portabella Mushroom is served with eggplant, bell peppers and artichokes on a Ciabatta roll.

Luncheon entrees feature Pork Scaloppini with roasted garlic and tomato Gnocchi, and Balsamic Glazed Chicken over sauteed spinach. All entrees come with a house salad and a choice of home made raspberry or parmigiana vinaigrette dressing. A bread basket with sun dried tomato flavored olive oil and a chopped olive topping round out the meal.

"I would encourage people to give Amici's a try because all of our ingredients are fresh and our service staff is exceptional," Chef Grimm said.

The dinner menu is the largest of the three and offers steak, pork, veal, lamb, chicken and seafood. Larger pasta portions are also available with a full selection of appetizers, soups and salads. The service staff at Amici's will recommend a wine choice to compliment any of the dinner selections. Desserts such as Chocolate Truffle Mousse Cake, Homemade Italian Cheesecake, and Tiramisu are served throughout the day.

The prices at Amici's are higher than average but are comparable with hotel dining in larger cities. On site catering is offered with a smaller dining room available for those who want to host private parties. All menu items can be carried out at Amici's and reservations are accepted for lunch and dinner.
