Manifest Gallery hosts research expedition to Greece
Friday, December 08, 2006
Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center has planned a research expedition involving a small group of creative explorers who will travel through Greece on June 10 and stay through July 1. Registration for the trip is now underway.
The expedition is designed for anyone wanting to experience the high points of Greece. The workshop aspect of the trip is designed for creative people, including students and professionals but also the creative public, who desire to explore visual art and design creativity in the context of a small group traveling abroad.
Extras
The specifics of the workshop are available online. Those who attend should expect:
• An itinerary designed especially for a small group of 15-20 artists or art/design students, but non-artists as well.
• Visits to most major archaeological sites and museums in southern Greece, including Athens, Epidaurus, Mycenea, Olympia and Delphi, as well as the island of Milos.
• Time to create artwork on-site; time for critiques and discussions.
• Visits to monasteries, remote villages and beaches.
Expedition Leader Jason Franz serves as Executive Director of Manifest and is its co-founder.
"This opportunity is an amazing life-changing experience of shared creativity, discovery, and adventurous exploration of a culture and world much different than our own," Franz said.
"For those fully participating in the workshop aspect, I would hope they would come away with significant insights into their own creativity."
The workshop and tour fee will cover all transportation (excluding transportation to/from Greece), accommodations, most breakfasts, guides, and ferry to Milos. Cost of college credit (if applicable) will be payable separately to the credit granting institution.
The final registration deadline is Feb. 15, 2007.
